Our Programs

OCAAT is focused on four key program areas for the women and children we serve: Health, Education, Social Services, and Emergency Crisis.

Health

Life may be different for some parents, their life may present challenges and difficulties that no one knows. OCAAT is setting new goals to help them raising healthy children, healthy minds for a happier and brighter future:

Expand malnutrition programming

  • Provide guidance on integrating children nutrition into continuing nutrition, adolescent, livelihoods and education programming.
  • Conduct Implementation Research to understand the determinants and drivers of children nutrition.

Education

We will emphasize the impact of education on the children’s future to reach their maximum potential, as well as programs focused on behavior. We will develop a coherent approach to immigrants and refugees inclusion across our programs, prioritizing community partnerships and collective impact programming.

INITIATIVES

Advance knowledge on inclusive education strategies

  • Develop thought leadership products that address the needs of immigrant and refugee children impacted by conflict and crisis, inequality, and discrimination – especially ethnic minorities, out-of-school children engaged in child labor or affected by early pregnancies.

Social Services

Children face unprecedented challenges. Millions of children suffer hunger, homelessness and other threats to a healthy childhood. We believe that children deserve to grow happy and healthy. We are setting goals that will:

  • Help children and their families to build stronger, more resilient livelihoods – especially  immigrants and refugees affected by natural disasters, war or emergency crisis.
  • Provide cash voucher assistance to children and their families.
  • Support children on the move in the U.S. with cash assistance.
  • Intensify our focus on CASH transfer programs
  • Conduct robust research on cash voucher assistance and CASH-plus programming, using data to strengthen programming and advocacy.

Emergency Crisis

OCAAT team works hard to provide relief to children suffering the effects of natural disasters, or war times. We raise funds for emergency aid to support children suffering shortages of medical aid as well as wartime shortages of medication, food, and supplies.
